Jessica Bio

Jessica Simien Pennie was born in Winfield, Illinois, and grew up in Houston, Texas. From a young age, she loved to draw and could often be found daydreaming and doodling in school. After graduating from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a degree in Biology, she became an elementary school educator.

While teaching, she has continued to pursue her passion as an artist and creator, blending creativity and education in meaningful ways. Jessica is passionate about inspiring students to believe they can explore many interests and pursue multiple paths, rather than feeling limited to just one identity in order to become their true authentic selves. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son, affectionately known as her “Guyahs.
